UK-based robotics startup Humanoid said on 21st July it has raised $152 million in a Series A funding round, reaching a post-money valuation of $1.35 billion as investment flows into companies merging artificial intelligence with physical machines.
The round was led by Prime Movers Lab, with participation from Schaeffler, Bosch, Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital, and Aglaé Ventures. Humanoid has now raised $270 million in total. The company plans to use the capital to develop its next-generation robot platform, expand its proprietary AI software KinetIQ, begin commercial deployments, and start mass manufacturing of wheeled robots.
Beta robots are expected to reach customer sites in the fourth quarter of this year, targeting manufacturing, logistics, retail, and other industrial sectors. Humanoid has already secured partnerships with SAP, Nvidia, Bosch, and Siemens. It recently signed an agreement with Schaeffler that involves deploying thousands of robots across the German supplier's manufacturing facilities. Bosch will serve as Humanoid's contract manufacturing partner while also contributing expertise in hardware design, production, and supply chain operations.
The financing signals growing investor appetite for so-called physical AI, a category that applies machine learning to robots capable of handling repetitive industrial tasks. Manufacturers and logistics firms facing labour shortages have been among the earliest adopters.
The deal arrives as multiple companies race to commercialise humanoid robots. Competitors such as Figure, Apptronik, and Tesla's Optimus programme have all raised significant sums or announced deployment timelines over the past year. Humanoid's focus on wheeled platforms and its industrial partnerships suggest an approach geared toward near-term revenue rather than the more speculative bipedal designs some rivals are pursuing.
