India's First Dedicated AI University Opens With Nvidia Partnership

The AI university was conceptualized following discussions held in 2024 between Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Naral Lokesh and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Mumbai. The initiative aims to position Amaravati as a major hub for AI education, research, and innovation at both national and global scales.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that India's government will launch India AI Mission 2.0 within the next 5-6 months, expanding AI infrastructure and education across 500 universities nationwide. The plan includes providing AI infrastructure and standardized course curricula to institutions across the country.
